Good entertainment, things to see and do make a great weekend break for all ages. A weekend break at Craigwell Cottage can be very cost effective in comparison to expensive city centre hotels. Four people can stay with us for the price of one in a city centre hotel!
In Edinburgh there is certainly something for everyone. The link to The List below provides some ideas of what there is to see and do near Craigwell Cottage.
Craigwell Cottage is within walking distance of Waverley Station. If you are travelling by train for your weekend break take the Calton Road exit. If you are flying to Edinburgh Airport for your weekend break take the Airport Bus Number 100 to Waverley Bridge and walk through the station to the Calton Road exit. Alternatively you can take the Airport Bus 300 which is a slower service (taking approximately one hour) stopping at Queen Mary’s Bath House (stop next to Holyrood Palace) which is only a short walk up Calton Road to Craigwell Cottage.
If you are driving for your weekend break the good news is you can park for free during your stay!

If you want to self cater during your stay there are lots of shops nearby where you can buy essentials. Precooked meals can be bought from Marks & Spencer Simply food at Waverley Station or Tesco Express in Holyrood Road. Or why not visit Edinburgh Farmers Market in Castle Terrace for some local produce.
